An international manhunt is currently in progress to locate the husband of Harshita Brella, a woman whose body was discovered in the trunk of a car. Harshita Brella was found deceased in east London, far from her residence in Corby. Pankaj Lamba, her husband, is being sought by Northamptonshire Police, who suspect he has fled the country. It has been revealed that Harshita Brella was a recipient of a court order intended to protect victims of domestic violence.

Chief Inspector Paul Cash stated, “Our investigation points to the likelihood that Harshita was murdered by her husband Pankaj Lamba in Northamptonshire before her body was moved to Ilford.” Following concerns raised by an individual regarding Ms. Brella’s well-being, an expedited inquiry was initiated by the police. When she did not respond to attempts to contact her at her residence in Corby, a missing person’s case was opened. Her body was later discovered in the trunk of a vehicle in Ilford.

Neighbors of Ms. Brella described her residence as a house of multiple occupancy (HMO). Over 60 detectives are actively working on this case, employing various investigative techniques such as house-to-house inquiries, property searches, and the examination of CCTV footage. Police have been focusing their efforts on three locations: Skegness Walk and Sturton Walk in Corby, as well as Brisbane Road in Ilford where the body was located. One neighbor reported hearing loud arguments and sounds of furniture being thrown in the vicinity recently.

Chief Inspector Cash appealed to the public for any information that could assist in unraveling the events leading to Harshita’s death. He emphasized the importance of even the smallest details in aiding the investigation. Additionally, Northamptonshire Police disclosed that they had reported to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to their prior interactions with the victim.

The East Midlands Special Operations Major Crime Unit and Northamptonshire Police are collaborating diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding Harshita Brella’s tragic demise. They are working tirelessly to pinpoint the exact location and timeline of her death. As the authorities continue their efforts, they are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in bringing justice for Harshita.

This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the prevalence of domestic violence and the importance of recognizing and addressing such issues within our communities. As the investigation progresses, it is crucial for the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that may aid in solving this heinous crime.
